What apps should I block?

Last Updated: Sep 24, 2011 10:00PM CEST
Once you've upgraded to the premium App Control service in the BipperKids web portal, you can block any pre-loaded or downloaded apps on your child's phone. Your child can still download the app onto the device and the app icon will always be visible on the phone, but your child cannot open the app.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when deciding which apps to block on the device:
  • If you are unsure about what a specific app does or can be categorized as, you can get more info about it on the app store's web site
  • If you want to limit chatting and talking on the phone at all hours, consider blocking apps like Facebook that include chat functionality, and Skype and V[...] that are phone calling apps
  • If you want to block access to the Internet, you should block all browsers (preloaded and downloaded)
  • If you want  to block YouTube, remember that the child can also access the YouTube website if they have access to the Internet
